Michigan or California ?

Now that it has been 4 weeks since we moved to california, most of my friends have started asking which place I liked better. I donot know if they know whether 4 weeks is too short to like a new place, especially when the transition is so gargantuan ! As for me, this move invigorated memories of moving from India altogether ! I think that is a worthy comparision because I am pretty sure most immigrants would find it hard to say that they love the new place, atleast in the few weeks of getting there !

Altough, it makes me wonder what the hell did I miss/leave out there in Michigan ? we got all our stuff last week, a little late (which is a hillarious story in itself as the movers made us wait twice the time that they promised to deliver in and made us pay double the deal at the end), but its all there ! Friends are just a phone call away and Michigan itself is just a flight away... but I guess this is something that I myself cannot explain !

why does a part of someone stay behind when they move?
Is it plain Inertia of change ? or is it fear of loss ? I cant tell but I sure can say...it aint easy !

Man's best friend

A Dog 'was' a man's best friend, now I think it is his laptop. Actually, I think I have it confirmed.

I (along with archana) was at pavani's place along with sudheer for dinner.

we had some good food and were getting ready for dessert when pavani pointed out to that silver-colored contraption where her husband, she complained, spent most of his time !!

I looked at Archana and I think she was not looking at me but I could not avoid noticing the smile in her eyes !

At 4 the next morning (which is now), I questioned myself and arrived at this happy thought as I crapped in the toilet to hedonistic pleasures.

What qualifies a laptop to be the next dog ? Is it more than a sub-conscious urge to interact? to get things done?

I guess what this machine and animal have in common is that they are both 'faithful servants' !

As we start communicating through machines more than ever, I guess we have started to accept the fact that we would have to communicate with them before getting any further ..

If a decade of communicating with machines could erase differences between a machine and an animal, would a couple of more erase the difference between machine and a man ?

...finally, where we ended our trip .... !!! a BART ride to Embarcadero, San francisco.
